Cobras: 74 vs. Runnin’ & Gunnin’: 44
Kyle Hughes, 30 points, the game and Tuesday nights high scorer led the Cobras to a big victory. Ben Bertot also added 17 points to help fight off Jeff Moreira and the Runners. Jeff added 24 points but it wasn’t enough as the game just was never close. The Cobras led by 20 at the half and there was going to be no comeback tonight.
Old School: 50 vs. Money Train: 56
In what was a championship game rematch from last year, this showed all the signs of a championship game once again. There was a lot of intensity played in this one. Old School led 21-16 at the half, but Money Train coupled with a great defensive effort and good free throw shooting were able to complete the comeback. Old School was led in scoring by Wesley Powell who scored 19 points. Money Train playing without Ari Betancourt was led in scoring by DJ Williams. DJ also made a three-pointer with 2 minutes left in the game that gave Money Train their first lead.
Antioch: 52 vs. Tar Heels: 40
Antioch came ready to play as they were looking for their first W on the season. Nathan Farley’s 3-point shooting gave Antioch an early lead which they never sureendered. The Tar Heels didn’t realize they were coming to a block party, as Antioch had 9 blocks on the night. It was the defensive pressure from Antioch that had the Tar Heels offense out of synch. Wilbur “Mr. Reliable” Mathurin had another solid performance as he added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Tar Heels.
Flight 612: 68 vs. Metro Church: 40
Flight 612 continued their ascent atop of the Tuesday night standings with another oustanding performance. James Hunt scored 20 points and Terrance Jones scored a season high 18 points to help lead Flight 612 to victory. The Polk brothers kept fighting for Metro Church as they had 31 of the 40 points. Flight 612 played solid defense and limited Metro to only one shot . Flight 612 out rebounded Metro 40-28, its the unpopular stats that continues to help Flight 612 cruise to victory after victory. It will be a fun ride to see how high Flight 612 can climb!
