Money Train came out firing on all cylinders. They used efficient offense and good defense to build an early lead, at halftime they led 30-18. Antioch kept making a run behind Jarvis Wiggins 18 point performance. But the balanced scoring from Money Train was too much for Antioch’s defense on this night.
Metro Church: 74 vs. Runnin & Gunnin: 55/strong>
Metro church came out determined to get their first victory of the season. Mike Daniel shot the ball lights out in the first half with 5 three pointers, Metro had 8 three pointers as a team made in the first half. Runnin & Gunnin couldn’t get anything started on offense, and found themselves in a 44-25 hole after the first half. Things stayed the course as Runnin & Gunnin made their run, Brandyn Meuse was their to answer for Metro.
Cobras: 36 vs. Old School: 39
This was a hard fought defensive game. Offensively Old School looked as though they were going to run away with it. Until suddenly it was halftime and they were only up 5. That was they way this game continued to go. The Cobras kept fighting their way back into the game. Wesley made 2 free throws with 15 seconds left to put his team ahead by 2. Later with 5 seconds left he had a chance to close the game but missed the second free throw, giving the Cobras a chance. Thomas Tagye with time expiring nearly hit a game tying three from way downtown, and Old School was able to survive.
Flight 612: 74 vs. Tar Heels: 46
James Hunt paved the way for Flight 612 once again scoring 28 with 5 three pointers, he also added a season high 5 assists. It was his play that busted the game open for Flight 612, as they were able to fly past the Tar Heels. Victor Ortiz had a good shooting night scoring 12 points on 4 three pointers, an Justin Core also collected 12 points.
