Flight 612: 92 vs. Not A Chance 48
This game needs no explanation 🙂 There was little chance this year of Not A Chance making a big splash in the standings, and though they were hoping to end the season well they had to play the top seeded team in the league on week 8. Not A Chance did hang in there in the first half of play, only down 10 going into the second half of play. But in the second half the fact that Not A Chance only had 5 guys (I’m blaming it on that. lol) proved to be to much… Flight 612 pulled away and crushed them. Flight was lead by James Blunt with 36 points, Braxton Benvenuti with 23 and Terrence Jones who had a triple double 19 points, 10 assists, and 10 boards. Not a Chance was lead by Levi Parker with 25 points and Brandon Mercer with 11.
Metro 59 vs Trifecta 95
Continuing the blowout trend in our second game Trifecta came on strong and has proven at times this year that they are a team that can put up some big numbers and are a force to be reckoned with in this league. Metro was lead by Brandyn Meuse with 30 points and 7 rebounds, and Caleb Polk who had a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. But Trifecta having 5 guys in double figure scoring proved to be to much in this game. Trifecta was lead by Kendy Nicolas (aka. Mr. Trifecta) putting in 7 3’s and ending with 29 points, Carlos Pena with 17, Erick Ho with 16, Juan Pena with 14 and keith Jones with 11. Great team work on behalf of Trifecta gave them this victory, and might just take them deep into the playoffs.
Cobras 53 vs. Wildcats 64
Both of these teams were a lock for the playoffs and were playing for positioning. The cobras were playing to try to stay out of the play in games the following Tuesday night, and the Wildcats were playing to remain the third seed in the league. I have to admit that the Wildcats have shocked me this season! Not that you wouldn’t expect them to be a good team, bc you do, but they are so much improved from last season. Though you wouldn’t expect them to win the Champion ship this year, I really wouldn’t be surprised if they find a way to make it happen. All season just as in this game they have continued to find a way to win. In this game they were lead by Josh Noll with 14 points and Jerry Saunders with 13. But they spread the wealth really well, as all 8 of there team members put points on the board for them. The Cobras also made the playoffs and have since one their play in game, keeping their hopes for the Championship alive. They managed to keep this one close even though one of their top scorers was not there for this one. I would expect that if they have everyone show for the playoff games they are going to make it very difficult to advance for the opposing team. They were lead tonight by Thomas Tagye with 26 points, 6 assist, and Kyle Hughes pitched in 16 points. All in all this was a great game.
LA Legends 66 vs. Old School 58
This was the closest game of the night, and could very possible be a rematch in the second round of the playoffs. The Legends are on of the only two teams in the league that remained undefeated for the entire regular season. So, they are obviously one of the favorites to win it all this season, but Old School came very close to putting a blemish on the legends regular season record, and Old School has also made it to the championship game the last 2 seasons in this league. All in all this was a game for position in the playoffs, and a preview of what is to come in a few weeks. All year long LA Legends have been unbeatable b/c of their shooting, and the fact that they have so many weapons, but Old School proved that a team with good basketball I.Q. and plays well together as a team can hang in their and create an upset. This week the Legends lead by Jose Rivera with 17 pts, and Rees Hoover with 15 pts., were able to win by 8 over Old School lead by the Powell brothers, Jason with 19 pts, and Wesley with 23. I look forward to the possible rematch in a few weeks.
